Armfield Statue Project

October 2009 saw BSA launch their biggest ever project - a campaign to raise £75,000 to erect a statue of Seasiders legend and BSA Honorary President Jimmy Armfield CBE. Following numerous fundraising events the statue was unveiled by Jimmy on May 1st 2011. The statue has been created by acclaimed sculptor Les Johnson who, amongst many other things, is the man responsible for the Brian Clough Statue in Nottingham. 'Big Jim' is located outside the South-West corner looking on to Bloomfield Road and will provide memories of the man most associated with BFC for generations to come.
