Suddick Tribute Night

The death of BFC Cult Hero Alan Suddick in March 2009 was a tragic time for Blackpool fans, especially those who had seen the man known as “The King of Bloomfield Road” play in the 1960s and 70s.

Blackpool Supporters Association felt that such a true legend deserved a fitting tribute and following the success of the Alan Ball Tribute decided to have another portrait produced for Suddick. Created by local artist Scott Rimmer, the Alan Suddick Tribute hangs alongside the Alan Ball Tribute in the main entrance to Blackpool Football Club.

The portrait was funded by a special evening at Bloomfield Road in September 2009. A packed Sponsors Lounge saw fans and former teammates of Alan’s pay tribute to The King. It was on this night that the family of Alan Suddick unveiled the portrait.
